About Us
The Associated General Contractors of Northwest Ohio (AGCNWO) is a full-service trade membership organization dedicated to furthering the ever-changing agenda of commercial construction contractors, improving job site safety, expanding the use of cutting edge technologies and techniques and strengthening the dialogue between contractors and owners. AGCNWO represents nearly 350 firms employing over 12,000 professionals.
AGCNWO members construct commercial and public buildings, airports, shopping centers, factories and industrial plants, schools, dams and flood control facilities roads and bridges, ports, public transit, underground facilities, water and wastewater treatment facilities, multifamily housing projects, military and defense related facilities, rail and transit facilities, tunnels, housing developments and mining operations.

Joshua M. Hughes, CEO and Legal Counsel
Josh serves as the CEO and Legal Counsel and handles all labor relations and legal matters for the AGC of Northwest Ohio. Josh serves as a Trustee on numerous unions Pension, Annuity, and Health Care Plans in Northwest Ohio and throughout the state. Additionally, Josh is a member of the Lucas County Land Bank Board of Directors, the Lucas County Planning Commission, the Regional Growth Partnership’s Executive Committee, and a former member of the Lucas County Board of Elections.
Josh earned his Bachelor of Arts and his Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Toledo and admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2007. He has led the AGC of Northwest Ohio since 2018.
Greg Burkhart, CHST Director of Safety
Greg Burkhart is the Director of Safety and Training for the Associated General Contractors of Northwest Ohio. Here he assists 350 union contractors and over 14,000 union members with their safety and training needs. Prior to his current position, Greg spent 34 years in the fire service, the past 19 as a Paramedic/Fire Fighter with Sylvania Township Fire Dept. Greg started working part time for the AGC in 2007. He was instrumental in designing and developing Confined Space Training Services, a division of the AGC which trained hundreds of workers throughout the United States regarding confined entry, and rescue.
Greg earned his Construction Health and Safety Technician certification and still holds his Paramedic State of Ohio certification as well as his Fire Safety Inspector card. He is certified to teach CPR/First Aid, and has his certification to teach OSHA 10 and 30 hour.
Kelly Nordin, Director of Financial Administration
A graduate of the University of Toledo, Kelly has been working at the AGCNWO for over 18 years. She loves serving its members and associated councils!
Laura Jenkins, Director of Marketing and Communications
Laura Jenkins has been in the Northwest Ohio Advertising Community since graduating from the University of Toledo in 1990. She managed and successfully launched two start-up radio stations: the Buzz 106.5 and 107.7 The Wolf, brought to market a new division at a large local communications company and has experience in Broadcast TV, Cable, Print, Social Media, Digital Advertising, & more.
