This project had its challenges, but I am proud to say it finished on time and under budget while adhering to AGC’s strong safety standards.”
The Huntington Center — Contractors– The Lathrop/Turner Company, Mosser Construction Inc., OCP Contractors, Henry Gurtzweiler Inc. “More than 1200 different workers have had a hand in this project. According to the construction supervisor, about 90 percent of the work has been done by local contractors.” “The local workers here do a fantastic job. No matter what project we’re working on, they come through for us. This is a great example, especially with that many people touching it”, said Joe Zunk, construction supervisor for the Lucas County Arena.
Generations of Care Tower at ProMedica Toledo Hospital — Contractors: Lathrop/Turner Construction Company, Henry Gurtzweiler Inc., OCP Contractors “When ProMedica broke ground on the Generations Tower in spring 2016, the health system said it would be opened by the fourth quarter of 2019”, said Matt Nagel, project director for ProMedica Toledo Hospital. ProMedica Headquarters –Contractors–Rudolph Libbe Group, Spieker General Contractors “By using local construction firms in the renovation and building phases of the Steam Plant, Junction, Promenade Park and The Depot parking garage, more than 1,000 construction workers and employees touched the project, which is where the element of pride comes in for Robin Whitney, senior vice president of real estate and construction at ProMedica.” “The community helped to build our campus, and they should all be proud of the work they’ve done.” She continued, “Pride leads to great things. When people are proud of their work, their dialogue begins to change and they will speak well about our city.”
The ProMedica Museum of Natural History at the Toledo Zoo Contractor – A.A. Boos & Sons Inc. “From the beginning you have a building that hasn’t been touched in years and it’s hard to build in,” noted Nathan Decker, Facilities Construction Project Manager with the Toledo Zoo. “Then there’s a lot in here that wasn’t normal. Like the huge piece of glass in the Komodo Dragon display. Instead of having 20 guys pick it up, A. A. Boos brought a machine from Chicago that lifted it with suction cups so it could be installed perfectly and safely.”
Toledo Refining Company LLC Scott Hayes- Manager of Health, Safety, Environmental and Government Affairs said, “We choose AGC of NWO contractor members such as Nooter and A.A.
